Final PreparationsWhen searching for the perfect date for my final recital, I chose March 22nd since I knew it would be the week after my spring break. The original plan was to dedicate the entirety of the week for final preparations and to rest a lot before the big event. However, when the Louisiana Philharmonic invited me to come perform as extra percussionist in New Orleans for my spring break, I quickly accepted the gig and found other, more "portable" ways to practice my recital repertoire.
Recent Media CoverageFor every hour I spent in the practice room, shedding the actual notes for my recital, I probably spent an additional hour on my laptop and phone, managing the many logistical aspects of the event. Within the past month of preparing this concert, I sent a couple hundred emails. Although only a percentage of my inquiries received a response, I was extremely persistent and was lucky to connect with many news organizations that were extremely willing to help promote my event!
