New Adjunct Professor of Percussion at Pima College / August 13, 2023
After a series of interviews this past summer, I have officially been offered the Adjunct Professor of Percussion position at Pima Community College here in Tucson, AZ. Homero Ceron, Former Principal Percussionist of the Tucson Symphony, held this professorship for many years and I am honored to be inheriting the wonderful percussion program that he has built. Plus, it will be a joy to teach alongside many of my other TSO colleagues at PCC.
If you are interested in studying with me (and receiving college credit!) this semester, please get in touch! We have openings for applied percussion lessons and for percussion ensemble. Our ensemble will meet on Fridays from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM at PCC West Campus. Everyone is welcome, including complete beginners! Enrollment starts as low as $87 a semester!

Arizona Philharmonic: "Opening Concert with Katherine McLin" | September 8, 2024
3:00 PM | Ruth Street Theater and Fine Arts Complex | Prescott, AZ
Trevor will be performing as guest principal percussionist with the AZ Phil on September 8th. Violin virtuoso Katherine McLin and Maestro Peter Bay open Arizona Philharmonic’s seventh season, featuring a vibrant blend of music that spans the contemporary to the classical. The concert begins with Gwyneth Walker’s Fanfare, Interlude and Finale, a firmly American work of beauty, reflection, and boldness. It sets the stage for Mendelssohn’s celebrated Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64, with McLin showcasing the work’s emotional depth and brilliance. Arthur Honegger’s Pastorale d’été offers a tranquil moment, with its depiction of a peaceful summer day in the Swiss Alps. The evening concludes with Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 92 in G Major, “Oxford,” heralded for its joyous sophistication. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra joins forces, once again, with Mariachi Aztlán de Pueblo High School, Compañía de Danza Folklórica Arizona, mezzo-soprano Diana Peralta, and Ballet Tucson to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. This annual concert, conducted by Maestro Gomez, will feature an exciting and diverse collection of orchestral and mariachi repertoire.

The Tucson Symphony Orchestra is proud to partner with the American Composers Orchestra to present CoLABoratory, a program designed to develop the work of composers from musical traditions that are underrepresented in the orchestra world. TSO will read drafts of new compositions by four Native composers including Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon (Diné), Laura Ortman (White Mountain Apache), Kite (Oglala Lakota), and Michael Begay (Diné). During this workshop session, audiences will get to observe the collaborative process between the composers and the orchestra. Designed for toddlers through elementary school students, Just for Kids programs are a fun and exciting experience for the whole family! Like Sibelius’ evocative tribute to his homeland of Finland, Venezuelan-born Inocente Carreño’s Margariteña is also a love letter to his home island, Margarita.
